Mother is love

A western woman came to the Ashram and happened to meet Madhav Pandit, secretary of The Mother, tantric, yogi, author of many books on The Avatars. She had a problem. Her son had gone astray being addicted to drugs and left her. She was crest- fallen and depressed. She sought the advice of Sri Pandit. What would she do under such circumstances? Madhavji  concentrated for a while and gave her a Mantra that arose in his heart. " Mother is love" , was the Mantra for her to repeat. 
The woman became peaceful and profusely thanked Madhavji  for the Prescription. With constant chanting of the Mantra, she could have attained to peace.

Brutes!

Every night after darshan The Mother used to return late to her Room. Sometimes she would return well past mid- night also. She would seem tired after the darshan and soup ceremony. At such times Sri Aurobindo , keeping in mind the consciousness people drew out of Her, would comment: Brutes!
